Issue #002
Revenue Gravity.
Researchers analyzed more than 2.5 million recorded sales conversations. Between 40 and 60% of deals ended in no decision. The buyer agreed in every meeting, even ran the pilot. Then nothing. Harvard Business Review put it plainly: sellers are far more likely to lose a deal to no decision than to the competition.
Nobody beat you. The deal just fell.
Most teams treat a stalled deal like a motivation problem. Push harder. Send the breakup email.
That’s fighting the symptom.
Here’s what’s actually happening. Every deal starts at the bottom of a mountain and has to climb: Unaware, Aware, Engaged, Discovery, Implementation, Contract, Won. The whole way up, gravity pulls. That pull is Revenue Gravity, and five frictions do the pulling: confusion, message-market disconnect, solution risk, no follow-up, and procurement friction. A deal that isn’t actively climbing isn’t holding its position. It’s falling. Gartner finds 74% of B2B buying teams show unhealthy conflict during the decision process. That’s gravity working on a committee.

What pulls deals up isn’t talent or hustle. It’s infrastructure: trust, relevant case studies, proof, referrals, repeatable processes. Each friction has a matching lift. Gartner again: buyers who work a supplier’s tools together with a rep are 1.8 times more likely to land a high-quality deal than buyers left to climb alone. Structure carries weight that effort can’t.
Gravity doesn’t care how talented your team is. Infrastructure does.
One move this week.
Pull the five deals that have sat in your pipeline the longest. Next to each one, write the friction that’s active. Not “they went dark.” The real source: confusion, message-market disconnect, solution risk, no follow-up, or procurement friction. Then write the lift that answers it: a proof point, a relevant case study, a referral into the room you’re not in, a defined next step with a date.
Every stalled deal has a gravity source. Name it and the next move writes itself. Guess and you’re pushing rocks uphill. And stalled deals don’t just sit in your pipeline, they sit in your forecast. See how much of yours is real: Run the Forecast Reliability Calculator
Which deal on your board is falling right now, and can you name what’s pulling it?

“I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns… So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.”— Proverbs 24:30–34
