Issue #003
Revenue Compression.
Two teams. Same number of deals on the board. Same dollar value in the pipeline.
One closes double the other.
Same inputs. The output splits in half.
When a number comes in light, the first instinct is always volume. Build more pipeline. Add a rep. Pour more in the top.
But the two boards were the same size.
More volume wouldn’t have changed a thing.
Here’s what actually separated them. Revenue compresses at every stage of a funnel. Market to niche. Niche to prospect. Prospect to lead. Lead to hello. Hello to demo. Demo to won. At each handoff a percentage falls away, and the conversion rate between two stages decides how much revenue survives to the next one. Find the stage where conversion collapses and you’ve found your real ceiling. Two identical pipelines pay out differently because one leaks at a stage the other holds.

Gong studied this at the deal level. Bring the actual decision-maker into the conversation and the deal closes far more often. Leave them out and an enterprise deal is 233% less likely to close, with the exact same meetings on the calendar. Same activity. Different conversion. Different revenue.
The myth is that more bodies fix it. Gong looked at over 67,000 sales meetings. Bring your own team into the room and you’re up to 258% more likely to win. Add more people on the buyer’s side and the close rate barely moves, about 32%. The volume of humans isn’t the lever. The motion is.
Conversion is the number that decides which pipeline wins.
One move this week.
Pull your funnel and put a conversion rate on every stage. Lead to hello. Hello to demo. Demo to won. Don’t average it. Look at each handoff on its own.
One of them is your collapse point. It’s where the most revenue falls out for the smallest reason, and it sets your ceiling no matter how much new volume you add. Volume poured into a stage that leaks just leaks faster.
Fix the collapse first. Then pour. And before you buy more volume, see how much pipeline you actually need at your real conversion rates: Run the Pipeline Math Calculator
Which stage of your funnel is setting your ceiling, and do you know its number?
